Soule Solstice Farm has been growing specialty heirloom tomatoes since 2012, as well as hand selecting each year special varieties of colorful and enticing vegetables. We love the Paul Robeson heirloom, Cherokee Purple, Green Zebra, Amish Paste and Striped Roman, and we always select an orange tomato, like Chef's Choice Orange, which has been richly flavorful and a great producer. We also tried Gold Medal, gold with dark pink streaks, which is very sweet and excellent. We obtain our seeds through Seed Savers Exhange, Johnny's Seeds, Vermont Bean Seed Company, Seeds of Change and other specialty organic seed suppliers. Another favorite crop is organic potatoes, sourced from Wood Prairie Farm in Maine, a leading organic farm and non-GMO advocate. Blue Adirondack potatoes, Red Cloud (pink inside), Butte (russet), Yukon Gold, Dark Red Norland, Caribe - just a few that we love to grow and eat. Another staple of our farm is rows of onions (red and yellow) and Scottish and English Leeks, a nice compliment to potatoes in soups. Each year we find a few new things, which is part of the fun of focused production organic growing: it is an abundance of diversity. And don't forget the 31 tree fruit orchard - apples, peaches and pears, with expansion on the way.
