Welcome to my kitchen! "Kitchen" is, to me, a word that means many things: creativity, learning, Nature, taste, family, friends, entertaining, heritage, my farm. There is something simple and pleasant about working in the kitchen. I know many others share similar feelings. From being on the farm, and enjoying making good food in general over the years, I have discovered things worth sharing, rediscovered practices my many farming ancestors knew well, and have seen many smiling faces enjoying produce grown at the farm. This section of the Soule Solstice Farm web site is devoted to "Kitchen" and all it means.
A lot of cooking and canning takes place at Soule Solstice Farm, beginning with carrying in containers of all kinds from the field and gardens, overflowing with colorful delights. Canning is fun - you should try it! I offer some recipes and videos ("tutorials") on canning and preserving, and will be adding more as time goes on. Like most home and Homesteading cooks, a few recipes stand out, and will be shared here, featuring food grown at the farm. A few cooking videos will appear on the site, too, in the Tutorials section. If you are lucky, a few other good cooks will accept invitations to my kitchen for a few videos! Here's to finding our way back home to good, natural food --Jennifer |
CanningIt is so beautiful to see the bounty of the garden, bright with natural color, prepared to delight the senses for months to come. It is fun to collect the vegetables and fruit, work a recipe, and enjoy the resulting jeweled jars and their contents. It is simple and pure.

TutorialsSometimes when I am cooking or canning, I am in "a zone." It is a spiritual, communal endeavor. Join me there!
